Having diabetes means that you will have to cut down certain types of food. You won’t be able to eat or drink your favorite food anymore. That means you need to stop drinking your favorite soft drink, your RedBull.
But that doesn’t mean there are healthy alternatives that you can make at home. Here are five healthy drinks for everyone.
Water
There is nothing better than water. Drinking plenty of water and keeping yourself hydrated is the best way to stay healthy.
But drinking won’t give people the sweet taste of a sugary drink. What can you do about it?
You can easily make infused water at your home, and it only takes a few minutes.
Infused water is water mixed with herbs or fruits to give the water some extra sweetness, but at the same time not adding too many calories.
Green tea
Green tea is another healthy drink that you can make at your home. It has no added sugar. It has lots of health benefits, including having lots of anti-oxidants.
What’s so good about having anti-oxidants? Anti-oxidants combat with free radicals produced in your body.
These free radicals can damage your cells and increase your aging process. Reducing free radicals can improve your circulation. That means fewer heart attacks and strokes.
A recent study also found out that because of these benefits people who drink green tea tend to live longer.
Iced Coffee
Are you bored with drinking the same coffee every day? Why not make an iced coffee while you are at home.
Coffee is low in calories, and it’s a perfect drink for you. To make a quick iced-coffee, all you need to do is dissolve your instant coffee in a small amount of hot water and add cold fresh milk.
Cinnamon tea
Even though not as popular as green tea. Cinnamon tea also has lots of health benefits for you.
Cinnamon tea is known to reduce blood glucose levels and reduce your weight. It also has anti-oxidants and reduces inflammation and blood circulation.
Fruit juice
Fruits make great snacks for everyone. Different fruits have different health benefits.
So homemade fruit juices are a great way to replace your sugary drinks. They have a sweetness to cut down that craving in you for sugar.
However, when you take fruit juices, you have to make sure you don’t add any added sugar to your fruit juices.
Also, keep in mind that some fruits have their sugar. And when you are making fruit juices, you are reducing their fiber content. That can increase their sugar absorption.
For example, even though apples have a low glycemic index, when you make an apple juice, the drink will have a considerable amount of sugar in it.
You should also avoid using certain fruits with a very high glycemic index, such as watermelon.
