Most people love drinking soft drinks. Some people even drink soft drinks knowing that they are not good for your health. Making infused water at home can be a great alternative to soft drinks.

Why so many people are addicted to soft drinks? This is because most people don’t know a healthy alternative for it.

Most of these soft drinks are loaded with artificial sweeteners and sugar. The added sugar makes your blood glucose levels fluctuate if you are having diabetes. And if you are someone who is drinking soft drinks on a regular basis then you are at risk of developing diabetes.

Your soft drinks also have lots of calories inside it, because of all the added sweeteners and sugar makes them even more unhealthy.

Some beverages come in low sugar or no sugar versions we would not recommend you drinking them as a replacement for soft drinks.

What is infused water?

“Infused water”, also known as detox water, or fruit flavoured water, is water mixed with various kinds of fruits, vegetables, herbs.

They have different health benefits depending on the types of fruits and vegetables or herbs that you are going to use.

How to make infused water at your home?

Making infused water is simple. All you need is a glass bottle, boiled and cooled water and some fruits, herbs or vegetable. Plus a bottle of club soda (Carbonated water).

Some great combinations include,

  • Strawberries with mint
  • Lemon or lime
  • Indian gooseberry
  • Ginger and lime
  • Cinnamon and apple

You can also experiment with different kinds of fruits not mentioned above.

First fill three quarters of your bottle with water and add pieces of fruit or herbs.

Then fill the next quarter of the bottle with club soda (carbonated water). This helps to add the fizzy, bubbling feeling of drinking a soft drink.

Leave the mixture for several hours. This allows the taste from the fruits and herbs to get absorbed into the water.

Enjoy whenever you want. You can also keep them inside a refrigerator to enjoy them cold.

Your infused water doesn’t contain any added sugar or artificial sweeteners. Making it a very healthy and low-calorie drink.

Most of the infused water is just water, drinking water and keeping your body hydrated has many health benefits. So if you are too lazy to drink water maybe drinking infused water can help you make sure you get the adequate hydration.

Most people like soft drinks because of sweetness due to their added sugar. However, the natural fruit taste in the induced water will help you to reduce the craving for sweetness.

Helps with weight loss

Infused water is known to help you reduce weight. Not just infused water drinking water can temporarily increase your metabolic rate helping to burn calories.

Research has also shown that drinking water before a meal can reduce your appetite and help to reduce weight.

It’s easy to make and cheaper than a soft drink

Making your own induced water at home is far cheaper than buying a soft drink from a supermarket.

It takes only a few minutes to prepare and you can also keep it in a refrigerator for a day or two.
